MonitoringLocationDescriptionText Loper Canyon is located within the boundary of Grand Canyon National Park near Colorado River Mile 41.5 at river right. The site is located about 30 feet up from the first waterfall, and approximately 100 feet below the main pourover, next to a 5 foot by 5 foot boulder on the left side of the channel. Cattails, thistle and red bud vegetation are found at the site. The source is not visible but it is most likely in the Temple Butte Formation. Station description information was provided by Grand Canyon National Park staff. This station was formerly known as LOPR001 in a previous park database.
