MonitoringLocationDescriptionText Boucher East Spring is on the southeast branch of Boucher Creek within the boundary of Grand Canyon National Park. The perennial spring discharges from a large travertine deposit associated with a slump block overlying the Bright Angel Shale in the upper part of the canyon. The actual point of spring issuance is obscured; however, water first appears in the Bright Angel Shale about midway up the slump block. As the point of issuance was inaccessible; water samples were collected near the base of the travertine deposit and discharge was measured in a small channel about 5 m downstream. The southeast branch of Boucher Creek is intermittent between the spring and the confluence with the main stem of Boucher Creek. The spring supports hanging gardens. The USGS site ID is 360411112141701.
