| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE LEHMAN CAVES NV 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPO.) QUAD. THE SITE IS LOCATED AT THE CHLORINATION FACILITY INSIDE GREAT BASIN NATIONAL PARK. THE WATER ORIGINATES FROM A GROUP OF FOUR SPRINGS COLLECTIVELY REFERRED TO AS CAVE SPRINGS. DATA ARE REPORTED IN THE "GREAT BASIN NATIONAL PARK FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR WATER AND WASTEWATER SERVICE;" SEPT. 1991. THIS STUDY WAS CONDUCTED BY THE NPS USING DATA COLLECTED BY SEVERAL DIFFERENT AGENCIES. DATA FOR THIS STATION WERE COLLECTED BY THE PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE. THE PURPOSE OF THE STUDY WAS TO "DEVELOP AND EVALUATE WATER SUPPLY AND TREATMENT ALTERNATIVES...FOR THE GREAT BASIN NATIONAL PARK AND NEARBY EXISTING AND FUTURE POPULATION CENTERS." FOR INFORMATION ON THE PARK CONTACT THE CHIEF OF RESOURCES AT GREAT BASIN NATIONAL PARK; BAKER NV 89311 (TEL. 7022347331).
