THE SITE IS LOCATED AT THE CHLORINATION FACILITY INSIDE GREAT BASIN NATIONAL PARK (GRBA). THE WATER ORIGINATES FROM A GROUP OF FOUR SPRINGS; COLLECTIVELY REFERRED TO AS CAVE SPRINGS; LOCATED NORTHWEST OF THE CHLORINATION FACILITY AND CONNECTED TO IT BY A TRANSMISSION PIPE. THE WATER FLOWS OUT OF THIS PIPE AND IS THEN CHLORINATED PRIOR TO ENTERING THE TWO 50000 GALLON ABOVEGROUND STEEL STORAGE TANKS. THIS IS THE WATER SOURCE FOR THE VISITOR CENTER; PICNIC AREA; MAINTENANCE FACILITIES; AND PARK RESIDENCES AT GRBA. NEVADA STATE HEALTH LABORATORY SAMPLED PRIOR TO CHLORINATION TO DETERMINE IF THE DOMESTIC DRINKING WATER SUPPLY MET WITH SAFE DRINKING WATER ACT COMPLIANCE.
