MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE KIOUS SPRING NVWHITE PINE COUNTY 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THE SITE IS AT SNAKE CREEK ABOVE SHOSHONE CAMPGROUND AND IS LOCATED WITHIN THE GREAT BASIN NATIONAL PARK (GRBA) BOUNDARY. THIS SAMPLING SITE WAS DISCONTINUED FOR STUDIES AFTER 1990. THE DATA ARE FROM SEVERAL YEARLY REPORTS (199097) BY KURT PFAFF; PHYSICAL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN FOR GRBA. A SURFACE WATER QUALITY MONITORING PROGRAM WAS INSTITUTED TO ACQUIRE DATA FROM THE PARK WATERS ON A SEMIANNUAL BASIS. DATA ARE INTEGRATED INTO THE PARK'S WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PLAN IN ORDER TO PERPETUATE THE INHERENT NATURAL INTEGRITY OF ITS WATERDEPENDENT ENVIRONMENTS.
