MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE MINERVA CANYON NV 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THE SITE IS LOCATED AT SWALLOW CANYON CREEK APPROXIMATELY 3.5 MILES OUTSIDE (WEST) OF THE GREAT BASIN NATIONAL PARK BOUNDARY. THE DATA ARE FROM A REPORT BY TIMOTHY STACK OF THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT; "1981 STREAM HABITAT INVENTORY; SCHELL RESOURCE AREA." THE STUDY WAS CONDUCTED TO ASSESS STREAM HABITAT CONDITIONS OF SEVERAL STREAMS LOCATED ON PUBLIC LANDS IN EASTERN NEVADA. THE REPORT FOCUSES ON QUALITY OF POOLS; BED MATERIALS; BANK COVER; RIPARIAN AREAS; AND AQUATIC INVERTEBRATES AS WELL AS WATER CHEMISTRY. DATA FROM THIS REPORT WERE COMPARED TO RESULTS FROM A 1979 BLM STUDY IN THE SAME AREA. THE 1979 DATA ALSO HAVE BEEN UPLOADED TO STORET BY THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE.
