MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE SAN RAFAEL CALIFORNIAMARIN CO. 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THE SITE IS AT REDWOOD CREEK AT THE MUIR BEACH PARKING LOT AND IS OUTSIDE THE GOLDEN GATE NATIONAL RECREATION AREA BOUNDARIES. LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE COORDINATES WERE DETERMINED AT THE NEAREST AREA OF OPEN CANOPY USING A HANDHELD MAGELLAN GPS MERIDIAN. HEAVY RAINS DURING THE DAYS PRECEEDING 3/13/95 RESULTED IN HIGH WATER PREVENTING FLOW MEASUREMENTS. ONE SAMPLE WAS COLLECTED ON 13 MARCH 1995 AND THE RESULTS ARE IN "REDWOOD CREEK AQUATIC MONITORING REPORT FEBRUARYMAY 1995" BY M. PODLECH; A. MILLER; C.M.CODEMO; R.J. BROWN; AND D. KARENTZ (INSTITUTE OF CHEMICAL BIOLOGYUNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO; AUG. 1995).
