| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | The Dirty Devil River is one of few perennial streams in southern Utah. The Dirty Devil River originates north of Hanksville, UT and flows in a southerly direction until it reaches Lake Powell. Water samples were collected at equal widths across a transect of the river about 500 feet upstream of the USGS gaging station. The Dirty Devil River is the fourth largest inflow to Glen Canyon and Lake Powell. Wildlife and backpackers use this stream as a water source and water samples provide information about the waterquality. Agricultural and industrial activities occur currently or have occurred historically in the Dirty Devil River watershed. |
