THIS SITE IS IN FORT PULSKI NATIONAL MONUMENT AND IS LOCATED ON THE SOUTH CHANNEL JUST EAST OF THE BRIDGE LEADING TO FORT PULASKI. WATER QUALITY HAVE BEEN MONITORED AT THIS STATION ON A MONTHLY BASIS SINCE JANUARY 1994 AS PART OF A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO MEASURE NUTRIENT AND SALINITY LEVELS AND TO ASSESS THE POTENTIAL FOR ALGAL BLOOMS AND DETERIORATION OF THE FORT'S BRICK MASONRY. SAMPLES ARE TYPICALLY COLLECTED THE LAST WEEK OF THE MONTH ALTHOUGH EXACT SAMPLE DATES ARE NOT RECORDED. PARAMETERS MONITORED FOR THIS PROGRAM INCLUDE WATER TEMP.; MONTHLY RAIN; SALINITY; PH; D.O.; NITRATE; NITRITE; AND FECAL COLIFORM.
