MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THIS STATION IS LOCATED ON THE WASSAW SOUND; CHATHAM COUNTYGEORGIA 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THIS SITE IS LOCATED OUTSIDE THE BOUNDARY OF FORT PULASKI NATIONAL MONUMENT AND IS LOCATED AT THE SOUTH JUNCTION OF LAZARETTO AND OYSTER CREEKS. OYSTER CREEK DRAINS A SALTWATER MARSH IN THE PARK AND IS CLASSIFIED AS A CLASS I AREA FOR THE PUBLIC HARVESTING OF SHELLFISH. THE GEORGIA DEPT. OF NATURAL RESOURCES HAS CONDUCTED REGULAR WATER QUALITY MONITORING OF FECAL COLIFORM BACTERIA AT THIS SITE SINCE 1986.
