THIS SITE IS LOCATED WITHIN THE BOUNDARY OF FORT PULASKI NATIONAL MONUMENT AND IS LOCATED ON THE NORTH FORK OF OYSTER CREEK. OYSTER CREEK DRAINS A SALTWATER MARSH IN THE PARK AND IS CLASSIFIED AS A CLASS I AREA FOR THE PUBLIC HARVESTING OF SHELLFISH. THE GEORGIA DEPT. OF NATURAL RESOURCES HAS CONDUCTED REGULAR WATER QUALITY MONITORING OF FECAL COLIFORM BACTERIA AT THIS SITE SINCE 1986.
