| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | The Historic Pool is a small pool at the base of the prominent cuesta feature at El Morro National Monument. It is the only perennial source of water at El Morro. Water samples were collected from the east bank of the pool on two sampling occasions and on one sampling trip, a water sample was collected from the middle of the pool using a raft. The pool has significance to the Zuni as part of their creation story. This water has cultural, historical and scenic values. Current visitors to the park appreciate this perennial water feature, and wildlife and wetland plants use the water as a source |
