THE SITE IS LOCATED AT SNY MAGILL CREEK AT THE COUNTY ROAD BRIDGE AND IS OUTSIDE OF THE EFFIGY MOUNDS NATIONAL MONUMENT BOUNDARIES. THE DATA ARE FROM A REPORT BY THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA; UNIVERSITY HYGIENIC LABORATORY (DES MOINES BRANCH) "SUMMER WATER QUALITY OF THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI RIVER TRIBUTARIES" (REPORT #7720) JANUARY 1977. THIS STUDY WAS CONDUCTED FOR THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY IN ORDER TO "OBTAIN BACKGROUND DATA ON THE SMALL NORTHEASTERN IOWA STREAMS WHERE LITTLE WATER QUALITY DATA ARE AVAILABLE."
