THE SITE IS LOCATED ON THE WEST COAST OF WHIDBEY ISLAND APPROXIMATELY THREE MILES WEST ON LIBBY ROAD FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH STATE HIGHWAY 525. THE SAMPLE LOCATION IS AT THE FOOT OF THE PRIVATE BEACH ACCESS ROAD APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET BEFORE THE PUBLIC BOAT LAUNCH AT PARTRIDGE POINT INSIDE EBEY'S LANDING NATIONAL HISTORICAL RESERVE. THE PERMANENT REFERENCE MARKER IS THE USGS MARKER AT 12.4 FEET ABOVE THE 0.0 FEET TIDE HEIGHT. WATER QUALITY DATA ARE FROM THE 1980 REPORT "WHIDBEY ISLAND INTERTIDAL AND SHALLOW SUBTIDAL BENTHOS;" WRITTEN BY H.H. WEBBER OF WESTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY; BELLINGHAM WA 98225. THE REPORT WAS SUBMITTED TO PUGET SOUND ENERGY RELATED RESEARCH PROJECT OFFICE OF MARINE POLLUTION ASSESSMENT NATIONAL OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION.
