THE SITE IS LOCATED ON THE WEST COAST OF WHIDBEY ISLAND APPROXIMATELY ONE MILE WEST OF STATE HIGHWAY 525 AND IS REACHED BY TRAVELLING WEST ON BANTA; MURRAY; AND POWELL ROADS. A PERMANENT REFERENCE MARKER CONSISTS OF THREE SPIKES DRIVEN INTO THE ASPHALT PARKING AREA 15.8 FEET ABOVE THE 0.0 FEET TIDE HEIGHT. WATER QUALITY DATA ARE FROM THE 1980 REPORT "WHIDBEY ISLAND INTERTIDAL AND SHALLOW SUBTIDAL BENTHOS;" WRITTEN BY H.H. WEBBER OF HUXLEY COLLEGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES; WESTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY; BELLINGHAM WA 98225.
