| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE CANYON OF LODORE SOUTH CO 7.5' SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE INSIDE DINOSAUR NATIONAL MONUMENT. THE STATION WAS ONE OF 94 LOCATIONS SAMPLED AS PART OF A JOINT NATIONAL PARK SERVICE AND COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY MONITORING EFFORT TO STUDY THE CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF SPRINGS; SEEPS; AND WELLS WITHIN DINOSAUR NATIONAL MONUMENT IN RELATION TO THE SURROUNDING GEOLOGY. DATA COLLECTED DURING 1997 WERE SUMMARIZED IN A COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY MASTER'S THESIS ENTITLED "WATER CHEMISTRY VARIATION BETWEEN LITHOLOGIES IN DINOSAUR NATIONAL MONUMENT; COLORADO" BY WILLIAM JOSEPH RICE (1998). THE FINAL REPORT DOCUMENTING THE ENTIRE DATASET (1997 AND 1998) IS TO BE RELEASED BY DR. JOHN STEDNICK OF COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY IN THE FALL OF 1999.
