MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE STATION IS LOCATED ONTHE WATCHMAN IDAHOBUTTE CO. 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THE SITE IS AT BEAR'S DEN CAVE WATERHOLE LOCATED IN THE WILDERNESS AREA OF THE MONUMENT. WATER QUALITY PARAMETERS WERE TAKEN FROM THE LARGE POOL NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE CAVE. IN JUNE 1992 THE UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO WAS COMMISSIONED BY THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE TO CONDUCT A SURVEY OF AQUATIC RESOURCES AS A BASELINE DATA SET FOR FUTURE EVALUATION OF WATER RESOURCES AT CRATERS OF THE MOON NATIONAL MONUMENT. THE RESULTS ARE IN THE REPORT "BASELINE STUDY OF WATER RESOURCES ON CRATERS OF THE MOON NATIONAL MONUMENT; IDAHO" (JULY 1996) BY C. MICHAEL FALTER AND RUSSELL J. FREITAG.
