| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | The station is located on the mainstem of Annie Creek at an elevation of 5800 feet. The stream channel is confined in a narrow, Vshaped valley with steep slopes. Stream width is 1.5 meters and depth ranges from 10 to 20 cm. An understory of grass, herbaceous plants, and shrubs dominates the riparian area down to 10 cm above the water level. Shading to the channel is partial. The stream bed is dominated by rubble and boulder cascade habitat with some cobble riffles present. Pools are absent, but pockets of slack water exist in the stream margin. Aquatic moss is common in the stream channel. The station description was based on station visits that occurred during September 1990. |
