MonitoringLocationDescriptionText The site is the location of a helicopter crash which occurred on September 24, 1995. The Aerospatiale AS 350 helicopter, enroute from Seattle to Las Vegas, crashed and sunk in 1,500 feet of water between Wizard Island and the Crater Lake Lodge. The helicopter was a seven passenger Eurocopter. Samples of a pilot book page with fuel and a pilot book cover with fuel were collected at the surface of Crater Lake at the crash site.
