| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | This station is at Williamsburg Lodge Pond. This site is the pond is located immediately adjacent to Colonial Parkway in the vicinity of the Williamsburg Lodge (north of Newport Avenue). It has been surmised this pond is the source of the headwaters of Papermill Creek. At Colonial Williamsburg, water from several deep (approximately 170 meters) wells is used to remove heat from condensers involved in air conditioning. The system is flow-through with the warm water containing low calcium and high chloride, alkalinity, and sodium continuously discharged into the pond. |
