MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE SITE IS LOCATED ON THE SULPHUR NORTH OKLAHOMA 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THE SITE IS AT THE DISCHARGE POINT APPROXIMATELY 1000 FEET SOUTH OF THE TOWN OF SULPHUR AND 50 FEET EAST OF BRIDGE. SAMPLING FOR THIS SITE WAS DONE ON DECEMBER 22 1975 AND JANUARY 9 1976 IN AN EFFORT TO IDENTIFY POSSIBLE SOURCES OF POLLUTION. THE SAMPLES WERE ANALYZED FOR TOTAL COLIFORM; FECAL COLIFORM; AND CHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND. THE RESULTS WERE PUBLISHED IN THE 1976 REPORT "WATER QUALITY STUDY FOR PLATT NATIONAL PARK" BY MICHAEL SCHORNICK; MARGARET JOHANNING; AND DR. LEALE E. STREEBIN; ALL WITH THE SCHOOL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA. FOR INFORMATION ON CHICKASAW NATIONAL RECREATION AREA CONTACT RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AT CHICKASAW NRA P.O.
