MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE SITE IS LOCATED ON THE SULPHUR NORTH OKLAHOMA 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THE SITE IS ON ROCK CREEK AT SANDY BEACH APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET UPSTREAM FROM THE TRAVERTINE CREEK CONFLUENCE. SAMPLING FOR THIS SITE WAS DONE ON OCTOBER 18 1975 AND OCTOBER 28 1975 IN AN EFFORT TO IDENTIFY POSSIBLE SOURCES OF POLLUTION. THE SAMPLES WERE ANALYZED FOR TOTAL COLIFORM; FECAL COLIFORM; AND CHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND. THE RESULTS WERE PUBLISHED IN THE 1976 REPORT "WATER QUALITY STUDY FOR PLATT NATIONAL PARK" BY MICHAEL SCHORNICK; MARGARET JOHANNING; AND DR. LEALE E. STREEBIN; ALL WITH THE SCHOOL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA. FOR INFORMATION ON CHICKASAW NATIONAL RECREATION AREA CONTACT RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AT CHICKASAW NRA P.O.
