THE SITE IS ON LITTLE BLUE CREEK IN THE TOWN OF PONTOTOC APPROXIMATELY 1.9 MILES NORTHEAST OF BLUE CHURCH AND 700 FEET NORTHEAST OF CHIC_OGS_UNN_5. DATA FOR THE SITE WERE COLLECTED FEBRUARY 22 1977 AND AUGUST 22 1978 DURING A STUDY CONDUCTED BY THE UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY (USGS) IN COOPERATION WITH THE OKLAHOMA GEOLOGICAL SURVEY (OGS). THE DATA WERE PUBLISHED IN THE 1990 REPORT "HYDROLOGY OF THE ARBUCKLE MOUNTAINS AREA; SOUTHCENTRAL OKLAHOMA" BY ROY W. FAIRCHILD; RONALD L. HANSON; AND ROBERT E. DAVIS. THE LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE COORDINATE VALUES FOR THE SITE WERE OBTAINED BY DIGITIZING A POINT THAT MATCHED THE SITE TYPE AND THE SITE'S TOWNSHIP; RANGE; AND QUARTERQUARTERQUARTER SECTION LOCATION (SECSTA1) AS ILLUSTRATED IN FIGURE 2 OF THE REPORT.
