Station is an Red Flag Spring a large seep type spring of mineralized water covering about 10 square yards. Depth over seep area varies from 0 inches (wet but no standing water) to 1 inch deep. This is one of the original 33 springs identified by Gould in 1906 for which Chickasaw National Recreation Area was established. Data were collected at this station as part of a water quality monitoring program maintained by the Resource Management staff at Chickasaw National Recreation Area from 19871994.
