MonitoringLocationDescriptionText Station is located on the Sulphur North Okla 7.5' USGS quadrangle in Township/Range/Section: T1N/R3E/1. Station is known as Antelope Spring and is a major contributing source to Travertine Creek located approximately 0.1 mile below Buffalo Spring. Samples were collected where the main flow exits the rock wall. This freshwater spring is Gould's No. 1 which is one of the original 33 springs identified by Gould in 1906 for which Chickasaw National Recreation Area was established. Data were collected at this station as part of a water quality monitoring program maintained by the Resource Management staff at Chickasaw National Recreation Area from 19871994.
