MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE SITE IS LOCATED ON THE DOUGHERTY OKLAHOMA 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THE SITE IS ON ARBUCKLE RESERVOIR IN THE CENTRAL POOL NEAR ARBUCKLE DAM. THIS SITE IS RELATIVELY FREE OF INFLUENT EFFECTS. WATER QUALITY WAS MONITORED AT 1; 15; 30; 45; 60; AND 75FOOT DEPTHS. DATA FOR THIS SITE WERE COLLECTED BIWEEKLY FROM DECEMBER 1965 THROUGH DECEMBER 1967 AND AT FOURWEEK INTERVALS FROM JANUARY 1968 THROUGH APRIL 1970. THE SAMPLING WAS DONE BY THE U.S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY (EPA) TO ASSESS CHANGES IN WATER QUALITY RESULTING FROM THE CONSTRUCTION OF ARBUCKLE DAM. THE RESULTS WERE PUBLISHED IN THE 1971 REPORT "CHANGES IN WATER QUALITY RESULTING FROM IMPOUNDMENT" BY WILLIAM R. DUFFER AND CURTIS C. HARLIN. FOR INFORMATION ON THE ARBUCKLE AREA CONTACT RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AT CHICKASAW NATIONAL RECREATION AREA P.O. BOX 201 SULPHUR OK 73086. TEL (405) 6223165.
