MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE SITE IS LOCATED ON THE SULPHUR SOUTH OKLAHOMA 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPO.) QUADRANGLE. THE SITE IS ON THE BUCKHORN CREEK BRANCH OF ARBUCKLE RESERVOIR APPROXIMATELY HALFWAY BETWEEN THE DAM AND WHERE BUCKHORN CREEK ENTERS THE RESERVOIR. THIS SITE WAS USED TO SHOW THE INFLUENCE OF AN INFLUENT STREAM AT THE ONEFOOT DEPTH. DATA FOR THIS SITE WERE COLLECTED BIWEEKLY FROM DECEMBER 1965 TO DECEMBER 1967 AND AT FOURWEEK INTERVALS FROM JANUARY 1968 TO APRIL 1970. THE SAMPLING WAS DONE BY THE U.S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY TO ASSESS CHANGES IN WATER QUALITY RESULTING FROM THE CONSTRUCTION OF ARBUCKLE DAM. THE RESULTS WERE PUBLISHED IN THE 1971 REPORT "CHANGES IN WATER QUALITY RESULTING FROM IMPOUNDMENT" BY WILLIAM R. DUFFER AND CURTIS C. HARLIN. FOR INFORMATION ON THE ARBUCKLE AREA CONTACT RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AT CHICKASAW NATIONAL RECREATION AREA P.O. BOX 201 SULPHUR OK 73086. TEL (405) 6223165.
