MonitoringLocationDescriptionText *** New updated Station Description***Located along the southwestern border of the Lookout Moutain and Point Park unit, this large perineal stream can be safely accessed at only a few locations due to its steep terrain and incised banks. The NCLC sampling station is located approximately 0.75 miles south of the gate marking NPS boundary with Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center. The site is characterized by a drainage swale that leads from the road, approximately 15 meters to the water's edge. As of October 2023, the entrance to the site is marked by green flagging tape. ***Old Station Description***Forming the southwest border of the Lookout Mountain Battlefield and Point Park unit. This large, perennial stream can be accessed and sampled at various locations, and is sampled proximal to Skyuka Spring. The back-up sample location of this creek is on park land adjacent to the Chattanooga Nature Center. Access is easy and safe in all conditions.
