MonitoringLocationDescriptionText Station can be found on the Cedar Breaks Utah 15' U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) topographic quadrangle. The station is located at Alpine Pond Spring in Cedar Breaks National Monument. The data stored at this station are from a USGS report entitled "Water Resources of Cedar Breaks National Monument; Iron County Utah" 1967 by C.T. Sumsion a USGS hydrologist. The National Park Service contracted with the USGS to conduct an appraisal of springs in Cedar Breaks National Monument to provide information on potential water supplies for the park. The objectives were to study the existing water supply; examine potential other spring sources; and determine the feasibility of drilling a well. All data were collected during August 1967. A copy of the report is on file with the National Park Service Water Resources Division. The data were processed and uploaded to STORET by Dean Tucker; National Park Service Water Resources Division; 1201 Oak Ridge Drive Suite 250; Fort Collins CO 80525; Tel.
