THE SITE IS LOCATED AT THE BLOWHARD SPRING BOX AT BLOWHARD MOUNTAIN NORTHWEST OF WHERE HIGHWAY 143 CROSSES THE CEDAR BREAKS NATIONAL MONUMENT BOUNDARY AND IS WITHIN THAT BOUNDARY. THE DATA ARE FROM 1974 LABORATORY REPORTS FROM THE STATE OF UTAH DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES; DIVISION OF HEALTH; THAT WERE FORWARDED TO EARL CURRAN; SUPERINTENDENT OF CEDAR BREAKS NATIONAL MONUMENT AT THAT TIME. THE SAMPLING WAS DONE TO DETERMINE IF THE WATER SOURCES WITHIN THE MONUMENT MET U.S. PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE DRINKING WATER STANDARDS.
