The site is the East Fork of Salt Creek next to a large marshy area (approximately 100 yards in diameter) in Canyonlands National Park. This section of stream is considered by the USGS to be ephemeral. It was flowing during sampling due to recent rain and snow. Rise is the appropriate classification. The marsh was assumed to be the formerly designated spring site SC1. Source Type: Rise. The data are from the report "Water Resources Descriptions and Data Base Canyonlands National Park Needles District and Adjacent BLM Lands" prepared by Ecosystems Research Institute (October 1984).
