MonitoringLocationDescriptionText SITE IS LOCATED ON THE OAK HILL FLORIDA 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. IT IS LOCATED IN THE NORTHERN SECTION OF THE PARK IN MOSQUITO LAGOON & IS THE MIDDLE STATION OF A TRANSECT RUNNING IN A SOUTH TO NORTH DIRECTION. IT IS ON THE WEST EDGE OF THE LAGOON IN AN AREA OF SHALLOW WATER(MAX DEPTH OF 1.4 METERS) WITH EXTREMELY LIMITED VEGETATIVE COVER & HEAVILY INFLUENCED BY TIDAL FLUCTUATIONS & ASSOCIATED SCOUR. DATA WERE COLLECTED ONLY ON DAYS WHEN WEATHER MET CERTAIN CRITERIA(SEA STATES LESS THAN 2 & NO EXCESSIVE RAIN OR LIGHTNING). A LORAN C WAS USED TO LOCATE STATIONS. SURFACE SAMPLES WERE COLLECTED AT ONE OF THE THREE STATIONS ON THE TRANSECT(5A 5B OR 5C) ON A BIWEEKLY SCHEDULE BEGINNING IN 7/91 UNTIL 6/92. DATA WERE COLLECTED BY BIONETICS/ DYNAMAC UNDER CONTRACT TO NPS. SITE IS RESPONSIBILITY OF JOHN STINER RESOURCE MGMTCANAVERAL NATIONAL SEASHORE 308 JULIA ST TITUSVILLE FL 327963521 PH.(407)2671110.
