MonitoringLocationDescriptionText SITE IS LOCATED ON THE WILSON FLORIDA 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. IT IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTHERN SECTION OF THE PARK IN MOSQUITO LAGOON AND IS THE WATER STATION THAT HAS BEEN IN PLACE NEAR GALLINIPPER POINT FOR THE KENNEDY SPACE CENTER LONGTERM MONITORING PROGRAM. IT IS BELIEVED TO BE INDICATIVE OF BACKGROUND CONDITIONS BECAUSE OF ITS REMOTE LOCATION. SURFACE WATER HAS BEEN SAMPLED ON 12 OCCASIONS SINCE JULY 1991 ON A BIMONTHLY SCHEDULE. SEDIMENT AND COLIFORM FROM SURFACE WATER SAMPLING BEGAN IN SEPTEMBER 1991 AND ALSO FOLLOWED A BIMONTHLY SCHEDULE EXCEPT FOR ONE COLIFORM COLLECTION MISSED IN MARCH 1993. DATA WERE COLLECTED BY BIONETICS/DYNAMAC UNDER CONTRACT TO NPS SITE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF JOHN STINERRESOURCE MANAGEMENTAT CANAVERAL NATIONAL SEASHORE 308 JULIA STREET TITUSVILLE FLORIDA 327963521 PH.(407)2671110.
