| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | Tsaile Creek flows east to west through Canyon del Muerto along a sand and bedrock channel. The creek is intermittent in this section of Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Water samples were collected where Bare Rock Trail crosses Tsaile Creek. Intermittent water sources in Canyon de Chelly National Monument are important features for flora, fauna, past cultures, and those presently living in the canyon. Water is important for subsistence agriculture now practiced in the canyon. Agricultural and industrial activities occur currently or have occurred historically in the Tsaile Creek watershed. Erosion is a concern in the Canyon de Chelly and erosion can degrade waterquality. |
