MonitoringLocationDescriptionText The station is outside the Cabrillo National Monument park boundary and is located at Silver Strand State Beach on the Pacific Ocean side, at Area 4, just west of the Coronado Cays. This site is referred to as station 'D2' in the Annual Receiving Waters Monitoring Reports for the Point Loma Ocean Outfall, and station 'S8' in the Annual Receiving Waters Monitoring Reports for the South Bay Ocean Outfall. The stations are located at the same point, only the names are different. After 2003 the station 'D2' was eliminated from the Point Loma Ocean Outfall Monitoring though the South Bay Ocean Outfall continued monitoring station 'S8'.
