New WQX 3.0 profiles are available at waterqualitydata.us/beta/. These profiles will contain recent USGS data added since March 11, 2024, which marks the beginning of limited accessibility for USGS data. Read more about the 3.0 profiles and associated changes here. This user interface only serves WQX2.2 profiles, which do NOT contain USGS data added after March 11, 2024.

MonitoringLocationDescriptionText Station is located on the Buffalo River at the Wilderness boundary at the south end of Boxley Valley west of the Luallen Farm 1.1 miles upriver from the Highway 21 Bridge. Station is within Buffalo National River and can be found on the Boxley 7.5' USGS quadrangle. This station coincides with the Buffalo National River routineongoing monitoring station maintained by the National Park Service and referenced by STORET primary number: 05NPS001. The data stored under this particular station were collected in 1989 as part of David Mott's University of Arkansas Master's Thesis entitled: "Effects of Cattle Pasture Runoff on the Water Chemistry of the Buffalo River; Boxley Valley; Arkansas" (1990). All data stored at this station were collected during significant rainfallrunoff events to measure the impact of nonpoint source pollution on the water chemistry of the river.
