| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | Frijoles Spring along the Rio Grande is a spring along the right bank of the Rio Grande in Bandelier National Monument. When Cochiti Reservoir levels are high, this spring may be submerged from backwater of the Rio Grande. The spring forms a wetlands area with an abundance of cattails and pools filled with tadpoles. Wildlife use this spring as a water source and water samples provide information about the waterquality. There are also concerns about contaminants in perched aquifers, visitor impacts, inundation effects, native fishreintroduction, adjacent land management, and atmospheric deposition. |
