MonitoringLocationDescriptionText The Farmer's Ditch is an irrigation ditch whose origin dates back to the 1900's and is formed by a diversion from the Animas River about 4 miles upstream from Aztec Ruins National Monument. Water samples were collected from the ditch at the monument boundary downstream of the culvert formed by Ruins Rd. Laterals from the Farmer's Ditch feed irrigated lands within Aztec Ruins National Monument, including heirloom orchards and a picnic area.
