MonitoringLocationDescriptionText The Animas River flows northeast to southwest and is the east boundary of Aztec Ruins National Monument. Water samples were collected from the Animas River along the southeast border of the park. The Animas River supports riparian community, providing habitat for a wide variety of wildlife. Agricultural and industrial activities occur currently or have occurred historically in the Animas River watershed. The Animas River is also the primary source of water for municipal and agricultural activities near Aztec National Monument.
