THE HUNTINGTON SILT LOAM FALLS INTO CAPABILITY UNIT I6 WHICH CONSISTS OF NEARLY LEVEL WELLDRAINED FRIABLE SOILS ON FLOOD PLAINS AND ON LOW STREAM TERRACES. THE WOODLAND SUITABILITY GROUP FOR THIS SOIL IS FL AN EXCELLENT SOIL FOR WOODLAND. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE PORTION OF THE ANTIETAM THAT FLOWS THROUGH THE CITY OF HAGERSTOWN THE CREEK IS BORDERED PREDOMINANTLY BY AGRICULTURAL CROP AND PASTURE LAND AND BY FORESTED LAND MADE UP OF THE OAKHICKORY HARDWOOD GROUP.
