MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | This station is located on the Laurel Fork of North White Oak Creek at the downstream side of the Highway 154 Bridge just outside the boundary of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The station is on the Stockton TN U.S. Geological Survey 7.5' quadrangle. This station was part of a study conducted by the National Park Service from November 1982 through October 1984 to evaluate stream water quality; identify polluted streams; locate major sources of pollution; and determine background levels of water quality in unaffected streams for Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The results are documented in a report entitled "Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area: Water Quality Report 19821984" Water Resources Report 867 by Michael Rikard; Sam Kunkle; and Juliette Wilson published in August 1986.
