MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE GEISTOWN PENNSYLVANIA 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE AND IS LOCATED OUTSIDE THE JOHNSTOWN FLOOD NATIONAL MEMORIAL AND THE ALLEGHENY PORTAGE RAILROAD NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE BOUNDARIES. THE SITE WAS SAMPLED AT A MINE DISCHARGING POINT ALONG THE CLAPBOARD RUN. THE LOCATION WAS SAMPLED AS PART OF A STUDY DESCRIBED IN THE "REPORT ON THE WATER QUALITY AND ACID MINE DRAINAGE IN THE LITTLE CONEMAUGH RIVER WATERSHED CAMBRIA COUNTY; PENNSYLVANIA." THE REPORT WAS WRITTEN BY WILLIAM BARBIN GLEASON IN JUNE 1995. FUNDING WAS PROVIDED BY THE PENNSYLVANIA CLEAN WATER FUND WITH ASSISTANCE OF PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION; BUREAU OF LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION AND BUREAU OF MINING AND RECLAMATION.
